AFSA’s Meets “Fan S. Noli” University Students in Korça

The Albanian Financial Supevisory Authority (AFSA) organized an open lecture on Monday, April 16th 2018, at 11:30 a.m, with the students of the Faculty of Economics at “Fan S.Noli” University in Korca. During this activity a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between AFSA Executive General Director, Mr. Ervin Koçi and the Rector of “Fan S.Noli” University of Korça. Prof. Dr. Ali Jashari. This event saw the participation of the Deputy Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Mr. Ervin Demo.  

In his speech Mr. Koçi, emphasized that the financial education related to the markets under its supervision to increase financial knowledge and public awareness has been one of the key priorities of the Authority. For this reason, AFSA in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth aims to include in the school curricula some general knowledge on the markets under its supervision.

According to AFSA's Executive General Director, the increase of awareness and financial education brings about a better protection of the consumers. Moreover Mr. Koçi emphasized that all the decisions received during the previous year, but also those of the current year have been designed to serve the consumer and investor protection.

Mr. Koçi encouraged students to become an active part of the First National Conference entitled: “Issues and challenges of the supervised markets’ development and the importance of the financial education”. The students may offer their contribution by presenting various works on issues related to the markets under AFSA’s supervision.

On his side, the Rector of  “Fan S. Noli” University, Mr. Ali Jashari expressed his confidence that the Memorandum signed between the two institutions would be mutually beneficial. He added futher that this MoU will serve the university students to support them with various source materials or provide them with various intership program opportunities at the Authority.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister, Mr. Ervin Demo thanked the Authority for the financial education initiative launched and expressed his gratitude to enhance further the cooperation in order to increase further the knowledge among the young generation.
