Gross Written Insurance Premiums income during the period January - May 2020 amounted to over ALL 6,068 million, or 9.99% less compared to January - May 2019. In the period January - May 2020, the number of concluded insurance contracts reached 354,651 registering a decrease of 26.53% compared to January - May 2019. The insurance market continued to be oriented towards non-life insurance, which brought 93.31% share of the total premium volume, leaving life insurance with 6.69% share of the total premium volume. Seen from the market segmentation perspective by the following insurance types: compulsory and voluntary, the voluntary insurance written premiums account for 41.41% and compulsory insurance written premiums account for 58.59% of the total market.

In the period January - May 2020, gross paid claims in insurance market amounted to about ALL 3,417 million, or 45.88% more compared to January - May 2019.

Compulsory Motor Insurance
Compulsory Motor insurance Premiums during the period January - May 2020 amounted to about ALL 3,555 million or 11.72% less compared to January - May 2019.

Domestic MTPL Insurance Premiums registered a decrease by 5.92% of the gross written premium volume in the period of January-May 2020. The number of contracts decreased by 4.41% compared to January - May 2019.

Green Card Insurance Premiums registered a decrease by 37.42% of the gross written premium volume in the period of January - May 2020. The number of contracts decreased by 47.45% compared to January - May 2019.

Border Insurance Premiums registered a decrease by 40.12% of the gross written premium volume in the period of January - May 2020 compared to January - May 2019. The number of contracts decreased by 49.80%.

Voluntary Insurance
In the period January - May 2020 Voluntary Insurance Premiums amounted to about ALL 2,513 million, or 7.43% less compared to January - May 2019. The number of voluntary insurance contracts decreased by 36.56% compared to January-May 2019.

In the period January - May 2020 Non-Life Insurance contracts registered an increase of 3.67% compared to January - May 2019.

In the period January - May 2020 the Property, Liability and Guarantee portfolios provided over 1,290 million ALL income in total, and the first place was occupied by Fire and Other Property Damages with about 64.52%, followed by General Liability insurance with 27.18% of the total income.

In the period January - May 2020 the insurance Against Fire and Natural Forces portfolio registered an increase by 43.37% of gross written premium volume of this portfolio and an increase by 0.11% in the number of insurance contracts compared to January - May 2019.

In the period January - May 2020 Accident and Health Insurance income amounted to about ALL 486 million, marking a decrease of 15.75% compared to January - May 2019.

In the period January - May 2020 Life insurance premiums amounted to about ALL 406 million, or 16.96% less compared January - May 2019.

In the period of January - May 2020 the payment of claims increased by 45.88% compared to January - May 2019. The highest share of the gross paid claims belong insurance Against Fire and Natural Forces with about ALL 1,725 million, or 50.49% of the total gross paid claims.
